Is Your House Haunted?

When people tell me that their houses are haunted, I always wonder if they’re telling the truth or if something is truly out there. The answers depend on a number of factors, such as the house’s history and its current energy. Often, a house will simply have unique energy and may not actually be haunted at all. But, on occasion, I’ve heard of people who have encountered ghosts and other paranormal phenomena and are unsure of what to do next.

Fortunately, there are many resources available for those who are wondering whether or not their homes are haunted. Many professional paranormal investigators, like Noah and Todd, recommend that homeowners keep a journal or other documentation of strange events that occur in their homes. This documentation can include written evidence, sound recordings and even video of any strange occurrences. It can be very helpful to paranormal investigators who may then use it to help debunk or validate a haunting claim.

Of course, there are also a number of books and movies that are based on real-life stories about haunted houses. Jack Nicholson and Helen Mirren star in this ’80s classic, inspired by true events, about a mansion that is supposedly haunted by spirits.

This gimmick-happy genre flick from legendary ghoul-hunter William Castle is still pretty creepy. The story centers around a family that moves into a newly inherited house and hits, well, a few snags. Featuring a lot of blood and guts, this film is both entertaining and unsettling.
