Ghosts are said to be a mysterious presence that haunts locations associated with the deceased. They may be physical or mental. Some believe that ghosts are telepathic.

Ghosts can be friendly, malicious, or both. Ghosts can even appear in human form. A ghost is thought to be a ghostly likeness of the dead person’s soul.

Thousands of stories about ghosts have been written over the centuries. Many claim to have had a personal experience with the ghostly. It is often difficult for scientists to determine the merits of these experiences, since they are a product of the human mind.

One example of a good ghost story is the tale of Peter Stuyvesant, the last Dutch colonial governor of New York. His ghost is said to roam the streets of his old neighborhood, and he has been seen on a wooden leg.

The modern day equivalent is the Ghost Adventures TV show. It is a series of 230 episodes. Among other things, the show tells the public that anyone with a camera and a free night can hunt for the ghost of a deceased loved one.

Other notable ghostly achievements include the use of electronic equipment to detect and capture the spirit. These tools include ion detectors, Geiger counters, and infrared cameras.

The ghost also gets a starring role in many a television series. Such shows as Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State have spawned numerous spinoffs.

Although some people are skeptical of ghosts, it hasn’t stopped thousands of ghost hunters from gracing television screens with their presence. There are even ghost hunting apps on smartphones.
