What Are the Signs of a Haunting?

Haunting can be a scary and confusing experience. When it’s a real ghost you’re dealing with, the fear and anxiety can be overwhelming. But it’s important to remember that hauntings are not always harmful.

One of the first signs that you have a haunting is when you start to feel like you’re being watched, even when no one else is in your home. Similarly, if you have pets, they may be noticing something that they don’t normally see.

Shadows or shapes that appear out of the corner of your eye, even when no one is there are also common in a haunting. These can take on animal or human form.

Unexplained smells are another sign of a haunting. The odors may come and go without cause, but they usually smell different than the rest of your house.

Other strange phenomena that you might encounter in a haunted house include doors opening and closing, cabinets or cupboards that are suddenly left open when you’re not there, furniture moving on its own, and lights that flicker and break. These are not typically seen by residents of the haunted house, although they may hear it happening.

Some paranormal researchers think that a ghost might be’stone tape’ that traces its past and replays it whenever certain people walk by the area. However, this is a very complicated and difficult hypothesis to test. It is a lot easier to explain this type of phenomenon using natural causes.
